A safe and loving environment supports each child's emotional and social well-being, while a strong partnership with families ensures consistent reinforcement of faith and values.

Kindergarten Class Principles

Biblical Foundations and Integration

  • From the earliest years, children are introduced to biblical stories and principles in a way that is age-appropriate and engaging. Biblical truths are woven into daily activities and interactions, helping children understand God’s love, creation, and the basics of Christian faith.

The curriculum integrates these principles into all areas of learning, such as language development, number concepts, and social skills, helping children see their education as part of their spiritual journey.

  • Spiritual Nurture and Character Development

  • Spiritual formation is central, with an emphasis on developing a child’s understanding of God’s love and their identity as a beloved creation. Simple prayers, Bible stories, and worship are incorporated into daily routines.

Character education focuses on teaching values like kindness, honesty, respect, and empathy, modeled by teachers and reinforced through activities and interactions. The goal is to lay a foundation for Christlike behavior and relationships.

  • Holistic Development

  • The early education environment supports the holistic development of children—cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically. Learning experiences are designed to promote curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills while nurturing emotional and social growth.

Developmentally appropriate practices ensure that activities and instruction are tailored to the needs of young children, providing a balanced approach that supports their growth in all areas.

  • Engaging and Interactive Learning

  • Learning is hands-on and interactive, using play, exploration, and discovery as key methods for engaging young learners. Activities are designed to stimulate cognitive development and encourage children to learn through experience and interaction.

The classroom environment is rich with materials and opportunities that support active learning and exploration, fostering a sense of wonder and excitement about discovering God’s world.

  • Safe and Nurturing Environment

  • The school provides a safe, loving, and supportive environment where each child feels valued and secure. This positive atmosphere helps children develop confidence, social skills, and a sense of belonging.

Teachers create an environment of warmth and encouragement, where children are guided with patience and grace, modeling the love and care of Christ.

  • Partnership with Families

  • Recognizing that families are the primary influence in a child’s life, the school partners closely with parents to support their child’s spiritual and educational growth. Regular communication and involvement opportunities help ensure that the child’s learning and development are consistent both at school and at home.

The school encourages and supports parents in their role as spiritual nurturers, providing resources and guidance to help them integrate faith into everyday family life.

  • Community and Service

  • Even at a young age, children are introduced to the concept of community and service. Simple acts of kindness and participation in small service projects help them learn about the importance of caring for others and sharing God’s love.

Activities and projects are designed to foster a sense of community and belonging, both within the classroom and in broader school events.

  • Joyful and Celebratory Learning

  • Learning is approached with joy and celebration, reflecting the belief that education is a gift from God. The school environment encourages enthusiasm for learning and personal growth, celebrating achievements and milestones in a manner that reinforces the value of each child’s efforts.

    Our Kindergarten Teachers

Our two youngest children began attending this fall. We have been so pleased with the transition. Teachers really care and helped identify learning issues. It’s been a good move for our family.

FAITH is an academically challenging and spiritually uplifting school for kids of all ages. The families and staff that make up this community is outstanding. I highly recommend people of Wausau choosing FAITH to educate their kids.

I graduated from faith and found myself very well prepared for college life. I’m still friends with several of the staff and teachers from FAITH and I am so thankful for the way they invested in my life when I was a teenager!
